Section chiefs and unit leaders can monitor in near-real time the location of mobile incident resources. Mapping software will provide a graphic view of resources assigned to incident divisions. Resources can be grouped by divisions, type of resource and shift.

Accountability
The location of incident resources is vital for safety and accountability. Section chiefs and unit leaders can monitor in near-real time the location of tracked incident resources.
- Use the web based mapping software to easily search for tracked resources.
- View the Latitude / Longitude and altitude of all tracked resources.
- In the event of an emergency, the location of the distressed resources can quickly be relayed to rescue personnel and air assets.
Safety
Medical Unit Leader (MEDL) can use the Trace GPS Tracker to monitor fireline medics and ground ambulances.
- In the event of an emergency, overhead can easily view which safety resources are closest to the resource needing assistance.
- The MEDL can use the mapping software to assist with strategically placing the line medics and ambulances in their divisions.
Logistics
Supply can use the mapping system to track the location of portable equipment that is placed in the field. With resources getting reassigned to different divisions or demobing, the portable equipment can be difficult to find.
Facilities can keep track of resources that are left in the field and no longer needed. These tracked pieces of equipment can alert unit leaders when the equipment in moved without authorization.
